SUBJECT:
Excessive Absence from Squadron Meetings and Activities
TO:
1. You have been
absent from this Squadron, without providing a suitable excuse, for an
excessive period of time.
2. Squadron 153
Standard Operating Procedures (SQ153OI 50-1, Chapter 4, Page 8, pp. 4.7),
states: "Any Cadet Member having three (3) consecutive unexcused absences
will be subject to disciplinary action as determined by the Leadership Officer,
pursuant to approval of the Squadron Commander".
3. Civil Air Patrol
Cadet Program Manual (CAPM 50-16, Chapter 2, pp. b) states: "Regular and
active participation in the Cadet program, in the unit of assignment, is a
requirement for Cadet status... Excessive unexcused absences may be cause for
termination".
4. Civil Air Patrol
Regulation for Membership Termination (CAPR 35-3, Section A, pp. 3b) states the
following as grounds for termination of membership: "Failure to progress
satisfactorily in the CAP cadet program".
5. It is not my
desire to terminate your membership. If you wish to remain a member of the CAP
Cadet program, you must return to this Squadron during its regularly scheduled
meeting and speak with me. You have three (3) weeks from the date shown above
to address this matter. FAILURE
to comply WILL cause your
termination from Civil Air Patrol. A copy of this correspondence is being sent
to your Parent(s) so that they may be informed of the situation.
6. If you have
already made the decision to terminate your membership, but have not yet
contacted the Squadron; please take this opportunity to notify me. At that
time, we can also discuss the return of any CAP property you may have in your
possession.
